Before the Emo Period, Subaru was friends with Takki and Tsubasa. Of the two, I think Subaru felt more comfortable with Tsubasa. He felt shadowed by Takki, but Tsubasa--quieter, mellower--seems like the type Subaru would turn down the spaz for. You see his sweeter smiles when he's with Tsubasa.

See? ♥


With Ryo, they give Subaru an empty, banged-up pot. With Tsubasa, he gets a glass bowl with stuff inside.

As long as Tsubasa does the actual cooking,

They'll let Subaru play with the stove.

I don't think he believed his luck, either. XD

The first time I saw Subaru, he'd just watched Ryo feed his fish pornographically to Uchi. He and Hina looked pissed. Empty plates and :| faces while Uchi pointed and laughed at them. ♥

Oh! This is nothing to do with anything, but the other day (must've been when I was making beds XD) I remembered a bunch of stuff I said I'd do for people and didn't, and one of them was give you the summary-translation of that Urajani ghost ep! (I realised far too late that you need to be a member of Master Key to look at threads there. #^^#) Here's what nanyaro said (I'll just give you the Subaru parts for now, or it'll go over the comment word limit!):

In the first tunnel that they went to...the man explained that a lot of accidents had happened in that tunnel, I think he said because it's very narrow. Anyway, a girl had died in that tunnel due to some sort of accident and she haunts the tunnel. I think it was that spirit that was bothering Subaru. When they were saying, "Muri" they were saying something to the extent of "absolutely not!!" Muri means impossible or unreasonable but in their situation, I think they were saying that they weren't going (to do something) no matter what. And when Subaru was being led out of the tunnel after feeling sick/nauseated, he said, I need to "escape" or "get out" of here.

...When I mentioned about how sometimes a person can feel either really cold (gets unusual chills, even in very hot weather) or very nauseated/sick if a spirit is nearby, that often happens if the spirit had a very traumatic death and still carries the negative emotions associated with its death. The spirit of the girl who died in that accident...she's lost. Sometimes these lost spirits who are full of sadness and negativity will try to cling onto a human who is very sensitive and has a lot of positive energy, in other words, their aura is full of...yang qi. I think that's why the announcer said that it seemed as if the spirit had become "obsessed" with Subaru's body - probably because she was desparately trying to cling onto his yang qi.

...The announcer said something like, "Shibutani san no karada ni rei ga toritsukou-toshiteirurashii." But the words on the screen were "toritsukaresouna" "Toritsukare" means to obsess over.

So, I think the announcer was saying something like, "...Felt (or feeling) of the spirit being "obsessed" with Shibutani-san's body."

It still sounds like what I mentioned previously - that Subaru had either felt the spirit's presence very strongly or it could have just passed through him...causing him to feel sick or nauseated.

I think this is what happened. Either way, he very strongly felt the presence of the girl-spirit.

She's a Maru fan, so she spends a long time talking about Maru too, so I can give you those bits too if you'd like them. :)

Coincidentally, after I posted this comment, someone posted a translation (http://community.livejournal.com/jcandygloss/20592.html#cutid1) of August's Myojo where they were talking about that exact ep! o.o You'll need to be a member of jcandygloss to read it, if you aren't already, but it's well worth it because there's a load of great translations up there! (The article is about urban legends and ghost stories. Maru's is hilarious. XD Yasu's first one is so cute too. :D)

sorry I realize this is late but can you show me where I can find that translation (of the urajani ghost ep) I have the episode and would to see the translation to better understand what was going on. I clicked on that girl's journal (nanyaro) but there was nothing there.
