Today after I left my defective darling with the tech people, I walked up to Rockefeller Center to mope in Kino (Japanese bookstore). With his tongue, Tsubasa paints a flat stroke from Subaru's collarbone to his lips. Subaru turns his wrists under Tsubasa's hands to grip his discarded yukata. His whine suddenly drops into a moan as Tsubasa settles between Subaru's legs.

"Shh." Tsubasa thumbs the knob of Subaru's left wrist. "Shhhhh. Not yet. Save your voice, ne?"

Moonlight throws a sheen across the room, exposing the slick tracks of sweat on Subaru's face and the beads in Tsubasa's hair. The sides of Tsubasa's open yukata hang, shielding Subaru's shudder when Tsubasa rolls his hips. Subaru's hands constrict into white fists. He tilts his head back, mouth open, and only a tiny, "A-ah!" escapes.

Tsubasa nuzzles Subaru's throat. "Shhhh." As he lies down over Subaru, Tsubasa stretches Subaru's arms straight above his head. Subaru pants silently after their erections slip against each other. Tsubasa pushes his fingers through Subaru's, but Subaru instantly yanks his hands away. He clings to Tsubasa hard, nails printing crescents into Tsubasa's back.

Tsubasa kisses his ear. His neck. Slows the kiss to a caress as he focuses on twisting his hips.

Subaru's eyes are clenched shut, lips open and damp from panting. Tsubasa frames his elbows on either side of Subaru's head, fans his fingers through Subaru's hair and kisses his forehead.

"Tell me what you want," Tsubasa whispers.

Subaru presses his face into Tsubasa's neck, and Tsubasa shivers at the sudden press of wet heat.

"Slower. Harder. But--un--slower."

Tsubasa breathes, "I could come from this." He swallows Subaru's moan.

He builds friction by changing the angle, bending his leg behind Subaru's thigh. Subaru, focused on sucking Tsubasa's bottom lip between his teeth, hooks his calf on the small of Tsubasa's back. His hands scrabble on Tsubasa's back once their hips are as close as can be managed in this position. Like this, their cocks continuously touch.

Tsubasa counts down.

It's five in the morning when Yasu's phone, which should be switched off, goes haywire. Yasu answers quickly, but beneath him Subaru wakes anyway. Through Subaru's unhappy, drawn-out groan, Yasu says, "Moshi moshi?"

"Yasu~-chan!"

Yasu pushes Subaru's forehead down when he lifts up for a kiss.

"Maru-chan! Ah. It's so early. What's wrong? Eya! Shibuyan!"

Subaru licks his bottom lip unrepentantly. Yasu folds his arms between his chest and Subaru's, protecting his damp nipples.

"Nothing, nothing! Only I saw a magazine last night with Ryo-chan in it--"

"Tell Maru I'm voting him out of the group," Subaru grumbles. Amused, Yasu gives his forehead a tap. Unamused, Subaru turns onto his stomach. Then, "MARU, YOU'RE OUT OF THE GROUP," before he mashes his face into the pillow.

"--Apparently that's what he's saying about it. He didn't even mention the carrot!"

"I'm moving out," Subaru mutters.

Yasu kisses the back of his neck.

"I suppose he can't mention it in an interview. Not the whole story anyway."

"No, definitely not," Yasu says.

Subaru hooks his ankle over Yasu's. Probably about as energetic as he's willing to be before dawn. And sober.

"Kimi-kun asked for you guys last night."

Yasu rests his cheek between Subaru's shoulder blades and closes his eyes. "Ah? How is he?"

"He says Subaru's ignoring his calls."

"'M not," Subaru murmurs. "Just calls every damn day."

"Shibuyan says he's sorry."

Listlessly, "Hey."

"Eh? Really?"

"NO. TELL HIM HE'S OBNOXIOUS."

Yasu smoothes his cheek on Subaru's skin. "He's tired."

"IT'S BEFORE SUNRISE."

"Oh! It's midday here."

"He's a terrible person. Hang up on him." Subaru flails his arm behind him, grabs Yasu's hip. Pause. Gropes upward.

Yasu giggles, rolling his eyes. "Maru-chan, he's awake."

"Aahh, good morning, Subaru-chan-chan!"

"Hang. Up. On. Him." Subaru arches his back.

One-armed, Yasu pushes off Subaru to distance himself from distraction. Although separated from the source, Yasu nevertheless says, "I may have to go, Maru-chan."

Subaru grins over his shoulder. Crinkles his nose when he yawns wide. Yasu giggles.

"Right, right. Tell Shibuyan hello. Or--OH REBWAR SUBARU~!"

Subaru takes the phone from Yasu. "Bai bai, Maru-chan," he says amiably, then folds it shut and throws it. Yasu hears a thunk.

"Shibu--uhmff!"

Subaru managed to twist around in the time it took Yasu to glimpse forlornly after his discarded phone. Subaru catches Yasu's head between his hands and licks into his mouth. His breath is stale, but the sounds he makes are compensation enough.

Subaru is kneeling, arms braced beneath him, so that he's sloped against Yasu from chest to groin. As Subaru rolls his hips and slips, Yasu slides his arms around Subaru's waist, steadying him. Subaru moans into Yasu's mouth as they break apart, tilting his head back. Yasu kisses his collarbone, licks a brief trail up his neck and resumes kissing his chin, lips, nose. Subaru grinds his hips faster, panting shamelessly. His arms shake hard enough that Yasu lifts him a bit. Subaru is still coherent enough to understand the suggestion and wraps his arms around Yasu's neck.

The angle should be awkward, but Yasu has Subaru completely supported. For his part, Subaru clings to Yasu's neck, head thrown back, his hips ceaselessly grinding. Yasu gasps, flinches, and buries his cry in Subaru's chest. Subaru's groan is all vibrato, trembling as hard as his body. Yasu holds him tighter, forehead hot and wet on Subaru's throat.

Suddenly, Subaru unfolds his legs from under him and Yasu lowers him. Subaru won't let him go, so he follows. Kisses Subaru's chest, smiling. Subaru takes one arm away, forks his hair back, but leaves one arm hooked around Yasu's neck. Yasu finds Subaru's free hand, tangles their fingers.

"I hope you didn't break it," Yasu murmurs.

"I didn't break it. The floor did."

Yasu giggles softly.

He receives four messages in the next hour, all of them unanswered until after breakfast.

Subaru shouts, "It's the wrong fucking chord!"

Yasu yells, "How would you know when you've been screaming over it?"

"Oi--then play louder! It's rock music, damn it!"

"Right! MUSIC. You've been off-key for the past hour and a half because you CAN'T HEAR THE MELODY."

"I know the fucking melody! I wrote the fucking song!"

"YOU ONLY WROTE THE LYRICS. YOU'VE BEEN REWRITING THE MELODY WITHOUT CONSULTING ME."

"THE MELODY IS SIX FUCKING NOTES. I CAN'T HELP ADDING TO IT WHEN THERE'S NOTHING THERE TO START WITH."

Yasu's teeth clack when he clamps his mouth shut. His eyes start to shine, but he manages to hold Subaru's stubbornly unapologetic stare.

After the fourth unacknowledged tear, Yasu seizes his notebook, guitar and the pen behind Subaru's ear and slams the door behind him.

Subaru rolls his eyes furiously, crossing his arms and legs like a defensive child. He rocks on his tailbone, staring apathetically at the half notes he scrawled mutinously above Yasu's quarter notes. He has trouble focusing on the clock--the blur could say anything from 2:33PM to 5:00AM. The way their schedules work these days, neither time would surprise him.

He's being a jackass. So is Yasu, but probably only out of self-defense. Apparently it's Subaru's turn to be the instigator, which also means he's the one who has to fix it.

Subaru expected someone to knock, but he's a little surprised to hear Yoko's distinctive RAP. RAP. RAP. RAP. RAP. RAP. RAP. that doesn't stop until the door's open.

Yoko has an arm around Yasu's shoulders, chin on top of Yasu's head. "Yo," he says, sleepily throwing a victory sign with the hand hanging in front of Yasu's throat. "Found this crying outside my door. Leash it or something, dude."

Yasu scowls but allows Yoko to kiss his forehead and gently smack his ass. "G'night, guys," he murmurs, and walks across the hall into his door--then into his room after Hina actually opens the door.

Subaru pulls Yasu inside. Once the door is shut, Subaru ignores Yasu's angrily sulking lips and narrowed eyes in favor of slipping his arms around Yasu's neck and kissing the tight muscle in Yasu's jaw. Yasu has his arms folded, but Subaru pulls them down so he can lean closer.

"I know it's not done yet, I'm sorry." He kisses Yasu's ear, breathing softly and proving he's not angry.

Yasu's shoulders begin to relax, which means the rest will follow soon as well. Once the tension is gone, however, Yasu's body releases a long, hard shudder, held in while he was crying.
