Okay, so Glee and I probably won't make each other's acquaintance anytime soon, but I just finished reading this Kurt/Puck fic on a whim--even though I have no idea what they even sound like--and I am so very glad I did.

I guarantee you, if this fic was the show? I'd have every season's box set gilded.

Even if you know nothing about Glee, couldn't pick Kurt out of a lineup, don't know Puck isn't his actual name (amazing what you can learn from fic--poor kid's last name is Puckerman, evidently), I think this is fantastic enough to stand by itself.

It's clever, it's sweet, it's sharp, and it's glorious. Check it out!

When I recovered, I started reading. And then I promptly lost it again when I finished reading this:

“YOU CANNOT JUST BREAK DOWN THE DOOR AS IF THE SHIP IS EXPLODING, CAPTAIN.”

“WHY NOT?”

“SHE IS A DIPLOMAT OF HIGH IMPORT. AND FURTHERMORE, YOU ARE A GROWN MAN AND, need I remind you, a starsh—“

“BUT SHE’S IN THERE AND SHE’S GOT HIM IN HER LITTLE CLUTCHES AND—“

“What the Ambassador does on her own time is no concern of yours, Jim.”

“IT IS IF SHE DOES IT WITH HIM.”

Silence descends upon the group.

And Jim Kirk realizes what he’s just said.
